New Hope Christian Church
Library exists to
support the mission of our church giving hope to others in Christ by
providing resources and services which advance the study of God’s Word,
stimulate Christian growth, promote missions, enhance the quality of
worship, proclamation, witness, nurture, education and ministry of this
church.
Who may borrow from the library?
Anyone regularly attending
New Hope Christian Church or the Deaf Community Christian Church may borrow
material. Borrowers should be listed in the current church directories or
provide current contact information to the library in order to register.
You may need to complete a registration form.
Borrowers will be assigned a
bar code, which will be kept in the library. Children under the age of 12
will require signed parental consent.
Loan periods:
3 books per person may be borrowed
for three weeks
2 videos per family for one week
Items may be renewed if there is not a request for them.
Longer loan periods may be negotiated if necessary.
Overdue fines:
Borrowers are asked to pay a
fine for overdue material.
Overdue books are $0.25 per item per week.
Overdue videos are $1.00 per item per week.
Borrowers will be asked to pay for the replacement of lost or
irreparably damaged material.
Our Resources:
Our collection includes books,
videos and audio media covering a large range of topics. All our material
has been selected and agree with Christian values.
Donations:
Donations of books, videos
and materials are welcome. Acceptance of materials into the library is at
the discretion of the library team. Donated materials not used in the
library will be passed onto agencies where they may be used. If you are not
agreeable to this please note this with your donation.
Memorial Gifts:
Individuals may be honoured
and remembered by gifts designated to the New Hope Christian Church
Library. When you designate a gift, a book or other item will be placed in
the library. A bookplate will be placed in the front of the book stating
the name of the person being remembered and the name of the donor. A letter
will be sent to the family and the donor will be notified of the item that
was placed in the library with their gift. Forms are available from the
library.
